Heartlands, Whitburn is situated midway along the M8 motorway between Glasgow to the West 23* miles away and Edinburgh, the nation's capital in the East some 21 miles* away. Over two thirds of Scotland’s population is within a 60 minute drive. Along
the Southern shore of the Firth of Forth stretching down towards
the North Sea are the three counties called The Lothians. Midlothian
surrounds Edinburgh while West and East Lothian lie either side
of Mid Lothian. Whitburn sits at the very western edge of West Lothian. Edinburgh is only 25 minutes
away by train on the Bathgate -
Edinburgh Sprinter line and there is a station in Fauldhouse
on the southern Glasgow - Edinburgh rail line. As you can see Whitburn
makes a great central base for visiting surrounding areas such as
the retail metroplis of Livingston, the market town of Lanark
to the south and historic Linlithgow, birthplace of Mary Queen of
Scot to the north. The centre of Glasgow is only about 30 minutes
away by car and Scotland's largest city acts as the gateway to the
scenic beauty of the West Coast.
